Progress

I had my doctor appointment on Friday, and so far I really love my doctor. She addressed every single one of my issues and I was impressed with her. First of all, when I tell a doctor my history they all have given me Xanax. I used it sparingly, but when I think about it now I don't like that they were all so quick to offer it. When I told her I don't sleep, she asked if I tried any over-the-counter sleeping aid. I told her I was scared of that stuff, and she said she's more scared of the baggage that I would have from anything she prescribed. So I got some Tylenol PM as she suggested and just took two. Let's see how it works...

Same with my knee and elbow. She says it is definitely tendonitis in my elbow. I'm to get a tennis elbow brace, which I got and used today, take Naproxen, do these therapy exercises, and she gave me an ortho referral. She didn't want to do the steroids, the cortisone shot. I didn't ask for it or anything. The Naproxen is helping already.

She sent me for some blood work. That was a complete nightmare. I got stuck by just about everybody there. I've always had bad veins, but this time it was worse than normal. I got stuck twice by everybody there. After the fourth stick they said they couldn't stick me anymore. I told them I'm used to this and would like for them to keep trying. Nine sticks and nearly that many bruises later, they barely got enough for all the vials they needed. I hope the results come back quickly. I may request them myself from the hospital.

Today was a nice Autumn day. It started cool and I needed a jacket, but my afternoon it warmed up enough that I was able to take it off. I ran a lot of errands and had some nice conversation time with me son that we don't get often enough. Talked to my daughter a lot. My girlie wouldn't talk to me. She was too busy singing and getting into everything under the sun while mommy was on the phone. She's at that repeat stage...when I called my daughter I heard my granddaughter say, "My mom is calling me." I cracked up, but my daughter said she was on the other line when I called and that's what she told the guy she was talking. So my granddaughter was just repeating what she heard mommy say.

I'm a lightweight where meds are concerned, and I'm getting very sleepy.

Until next time...
